Why Pilates?

Pilates is well recognised for its benefits to the body and mind. It is widely used by physiotherapists, chiropractors and other health professionals to improve posture, strength and tone, improve nervous system performance, flexibility, aid in injury rehabilitation and overall improvement to bodily function.

The mind

Pilates uses specific breathing patterns to help you focus and improve body awareness. With a concentration on breathing and precision of movement it can aid in stress management, relaxation and build good motor pathways.

Strength

Targeting and strengthening specific muscles is not only great for fitness and appearance, but importantly improving motor control, balance, coordination and movement patterns allowing your body to function at its optimum.

Recovery

It is common for Pilates to be incorporated into rehabilitation or performance programs, the principals of Pilates work well to stabilise and lengthen your body encouraging optimal body mechanics.

Our Team

Our Pilates classes are run by our physiotherapists, ensuring a program is designed around your fitness, rehabilitation, or personal goals. In order to participate in our Pilates classes it is required you have an initial consultation with one of our physiotherapists to ensure we understand your goals. This allows us to make sure you get the most benefit out of the program.
